Integrity, Competence, Accessibility and Friendliness: These words sum my experience with Torchlight. Dave and his team are remarkable! Never have I had such a painless experience. I feel like I got way more value for what I paid to have my taxes done than I had gotten from other big named franchises in the past. Additionally, I got excellent advice that saved me over $9,000.00, and I knew that Dave had my best interest in mind. He didn’t try to sell me a product I didn’t need in order to make a quick buck, like some CPAs have tried to do in the past. His knowledge is broad and comprehensive and his judgment is sound. The way that Americans trusted FDR and JFK, that is how I feel about Dave Horwedel. Thank you, Dave. I highly recommend this company! If you want good, friendly service, call Torchlight..

I had previously used a large and very well known accounting firm, but it seemed too cookie cutter and that they were more following a text book and not actually looking at my personal situation, earnings and deductions. So, this year I tried something new and boy I am glad I did. The first step was, Dave (Torchlight) did an audit on my previous year’s return he informed me that there was a LOT of money left on the table that I was entitled to claim but had not. So this is where we started, and for a nominal fee Torchlight resubmitted a variation to last year’s tax statement and as a result I got over $10,000 returned from last year ALONE – Meaning the large firm had me OVER PAY by more than $10,000!!! And on top of this, I got several thousands more from this year’s return. Long story short – Torchlight will be my accountants from here on out and I highly recommend you to do the same. Thanks for all your great work Team Torchlight :)))) TT

I had an odd circumstance where the accountant who initially started doing my 2015 taxes passed away after sending in my paperwork. After several months of trying to get a resolution and the parties assigned to take over the accounts being non-responsive, I found myself still trying to figure out how to get my taxes completed. I had met Dave at several networking groups in the past and posed my scenario to him. He was willing to take a look to see how he could help. Through all his connections and effort, he was able to get what he needed from the IRS and finally get a resolution for me. He also did my taxes for 2016 and was very thorough and got them done quickly. I am very grateful for all the great work from Torchlight and highly recommend their services.

My fiancé has been going to David Horwedel for his taxes and I saw last year how well he handled his. So this year, I went to him for mine and I’m so glad I did! He ended up fixing my taxes for 2016 and now I feel I have them accurate with the best return possible.

I had my taxes done in 2016 by an accountant and I knew something wasn’t right. I asked a friend who she recommended and she told me Torchlight Tax. So I sent my taxes here and had my taxes done again, it was worth it! Things being filed correctly saved me money. And his recommendations for my business structure will save me thousands. Being a small business owner I need someone that knows what they are doing and someone I can trust to do the job correctly. Torchlight Tax has proven to be that company for me. They’ll be doing my taxes for years to come.

There are tax preparers and then there is Torchlight Tax, and David Horwedel! I have been in the entertainment business for over 60 years and have never had the kind of excellent service, advice, personal attention and thoroughly enjoyable service and peace of mind experience with a tax preparer that David and his staff gave me. Looking for a great tax preparer? Look no further than this firm. Outstanding! Thanks, Dave.

Dave Horwedel at Torchlight Tax and Financial Solutions was everything I needed as far as a financial accountant to file my taxes. He’s the best CPA I have ever come across. I have used other accountants to file my tax returns but none of them are as accurate, knowledgeable, or as responsive as him. Torchlight Tax is the best tax accountant in town!

Great service. I have been doing my taxes with Dave for a couple years now and he is great, professional, and does quality work. He is very knowledgeable in his work. I have messed up a couple years of taxes and he has fixed them all. I now never have issues with the IRS ever since. I continue to do my taxes with Dave and will continue as he does great work. A friend recommended Torchlight Tax to me as I had a difficult tax write-off to figure out. Dave knew exactly what combinations of financial statements and other supporting documentation were required. He carefully and patiently guided me through the process of gathering everything that was needed. His assistant, Charlene, kept things speeding along as questions and answers went back and forth. It’s the busiest time of year, tax-wise, and service was prompt and friendly. Definitely recommend Torchlight, especially if you have something gnarly to figure out.

I am retired and had agreed to an installment agreement with the IRS. I realized I could not pay it. I sent to Dave. He represented me before the IRS. I am getting uncollectible status. It relieved a lot of stress.

Absolutely the best tax service available. Yes, the crew is more expensive than a run of the mill CPA or Turbo Tax – but worth every penny – you honestly get what you pay for. If you are a S-corp or sole proprietor LLC especially there is no organization better to handle your taxes and any tax issues than Torchlight Tax – hands down.

My husband and I have been going through David for the last 3 years after a terrible mess. My nerves were completely shot before I met this man! He was able to lower our IRS debt and put us back on track. He’s professional, knowledgeable and thorough. There is not enough words to express our gratitude. Thank you again David!

My wife and I recently relocated from Africa to the USA. Being unfamiliar with the tax laws and processes, filing taxes was a daunting task. Torchlight provided quick and cost effective services. They identified and fixed potential problems that could have had major adverse outcomes for us in the future. Torchlight’s services come highly recommended.

I was seriously confused and lost concerning some prior years’ unfiled taxes, I felt there were probably some refunds but the complexity of multiple employers and complex donation info had me baffled. Torchlight to the rescue! David Horwedel and his efficient crew guided me through getting them all the information they could not access as my preparers. I felt that they completely understood the laws and rules and were kind in bringing my understanding up to speed. Once they had prepared the information, I discovered a treasure of clear summary information plus all the needed forms. I was getting significant refunds as well! I am delighted with the professionalism of Torchlight Tax and was glad to pay their modest fee.

My books were a mess. Jaimie fixed them. Then she trained my secretary to do them right! I was very happy with the competence and the friendly service.

I was afraid to file my taxes as I was three years behind. I did not want to “raise any red flags” with the IRS. Then I got a letter from the IRS to my correct address, asking if had an address changed. I freaked. Then I saw Dave. I had missing W-2s and 1099s. I did not know what to do. Dave was very kind, gentle, and insistent. He got my transcripts from the IRS. Turns out I had not filed for six years. It seems I had edited my memory as far as the IRS was concerned. Dave systematically did each year, starting with the first year I had not filed. He worked with me and made sure I found every expense and deduction. He was very careful. The result was not as bad as I expected. I even got a refund for one year. In the end, I had to pay. But it was a lot less than I had feared. I recommend Dave highly. He was a true friend in my time of need.

Dave was on the phone to my son, getting my grandson’s social security number. Dave casually mentioned that “we usually do married filing jointly versus married filing separately, just to see what the difference is. I understand you are filing separately.” My son was fine on that. Then Dave called and told him a joint filing would save $5,000 tax. Needless to say, my son went for it. I did not have to pay anything to the IRS, and my son gets a refund. Thanks Dave. We will be back next year.

Not only did Dave give me excellent service, but he went the extra mile to help me.

Dave was very astute and explained how I could save a lot of tax money. Much appreciated.
RM
Dave was very kind but persistent. He made me get the data needed for my corporate return and my back returns. He got everything in order and insisted I do it right. In the end, it cost me a lot less in tax then I had expected. And now I can get a mortgage loan and buy a house!
LM
Dave was knowledgeable and knew all the right questions. Doing my taxes was easier and less painful then I expected.

I got a letter from the IRS correcting my 2013 return. I did not understand it and was not sure how to fix my return. It was only $200 more, but I was worried. I took it to Dave. He found the mistake the IRS had found and told me how he would correct it. It made sense. He then reviewed the rest of my return, found another error, filed an amended return, and I get a $5,000 refund in 2013. Then he reviewed 2014 and did an amended return, and I get another big refund. Dave is now my “go-to” tax guy.

I have been frustrated with my tax accountants for the past 10 years. I lost a lot of money trusting on their “expertise”. Therefore, when I met the team it was a refreshing pleasure to start the tax process. They held my hand and responded immediately to all my needs. Being with 2 hours difference is a challenge but we learned to work it out because I realized they were there to help me. They are probably the best tax preparation organization and CPA I’ve had in a long, long time. Learn to work around the time zone difference with them because they are great.
